Chris is a native Houstonian and received his BBA in Finance from the University of Texas. He entered the mortgage industry in 1982, and worked for local Houston mortgage lenders before founding Houston Capital Mortgage in 1989.

He is a past director of the Greater Houston Association of Mortgage Brokers and a member of the Texas Association of Mortgage Bankers. 

He and his wife Cathy have two sons, Michael and Stephen. Chris enjoys many hobbies and activities, such as cycling, the arts and home remodeling & renovation. Cathy is a contractor and interior designer, whose talent is recreating living space.
