In the mortgage industry, there are two main kinds of lenders: Mortgage Bankers and Mortgage Brokers. You may ask yourself does that really matter ??? The answer is YES it matters !
Houston Capital Mortgage offers you the best of both worlds; we operate with the stability and control of a mortgage banker, while offering the pricing and products alike a mortgage broker.
Please let us explain the importance further....
Mortgage Bankers operate with financial stability and internal controls, as bankers handle your loan process from approval to funding. They manage the appraisal process in house by utilizing an approved panel of appraisers. They provide funding at the time of your closing with their own funds, from their warehouse lines of credit. Yet, they tend to offer only their own internal product line; causing them to be not as competitive.
Mortgage Brokers offer a variety of different lenders pricing and products, allowing them to be more competitive in rate and products. Yet, they do not control the appraisal, underwriting, closing or funding of your loan, as those functions are all outsourced to their lending source. In that respect, they serve as a middleman or broker, without internal control of the many important aspects of the lending process.
Houston Capital Mortgage is a unique boutique correspondent mortgage company in the Texas marketplace; a mortgage banker by structure, and a mortgage broker in terms of philosophy ! We take the best of both worlds, to provide you with the customer service, product line and competitive pricing you want and need !
